International students should pass the TOEFL

Nowadays, more and more international students come to American universities for study. Before those international students come into American universities, they must give their TOEFL scores which can prove their English levels. TOEFL is a certificate which provides the students who come from non-English speaking countries an English proficiency test. International students should need an appropriate TOEFL score to prove if they could study, live and work in English-speaking countries.

First, TOEFL is evidence to prove students’ ability to study in English-speaking countries. Each country’s English language proficiency is different. In order to make sure that students have the ability to study in an English-speaking country, they should be qualified with TOEFL learning. If the student did not pass the TOEFL, but directly went to an American University to study, he or she will feel trouble to learn the teachers’ words. Therefore, the TOEFL test is so important that it can ensure those international students in English-speaking countries the ability to learn.
Secondly, after the adoption of the TOEFL test, it proves that international students are capable of living in the English-speaking countries. In addition, for international students at schools, they still live in an English-speaking environment. For example, they need to go to government departments to make documents, so they must use English to communicate with others. For this reason, TOEFL learning improves students living in the English-speaking countries with the langue ability.

TOEFL study can make the international students perform better in langue even as good as local students. In some cases, international students are not worse than the local students, but they do not have good performances because they don’t have good langue ability of English. If the international students have learned and passed TOEFL, they would have a good langue ability of English, they would perform as well as local students. The international students passed the TOEFL tests, it also indicates that students are able to adapt to the forthcoming study of life and can successfully complete their education.

TOEFL is a test of English and its role is only to test the English proficiency of international students. It cannot fully demonstrate the professional competence of students. For this reason, some students think that the TOEFL scores of American University admission standards as unfair. From another point of view, international students have a good English ability which is the base of professional knowledge. TOEFL scores of international students is proof of English proficiency.

TOEFL is a certificate and also a main requirement for international students to enter a university. It ensures that international students have a good langue ability of English, the ability to live and study in English-speaking countries. Only through the TOEFL test, can international students have the ability and same competitiveness of local students. That is why TOEFL is so important and is the main requirement for international students.
